Week 4 Initial Reaction

My initial reaction to the assignment was not immediate because I did not fully understand wikis even after all of the reading that I did. It made much more sense today after reading the article by Brian Lamb on the pedagogical purposes of wikis. I really liked that he discussed how it could improve writing skills and colloboration with one's peers. It always helps me when I have solid examples and links where I can look for illustrations to compare and gather my own thoughts and ideas on how to arrange the new information in my schema.

My initial reaction to the week three assignment was quite intriguing. I had to research via the yahoo search engine what a web based education system was because I had never heard of internet based learning phrased in such a manner. I also had a few problems connecting terms until I did a boolean search at the Walden U. Library database and then this made things a little easier. Thus, I learned more about how the computer and web based education systems have similarities and differences and how they can actually enhance one another if they are used conjunctively.
